on supplying quality feed products with exceptional service and competitive
prices and friendly, professional employees since 1997.
Newco Commodities Ltd. knows exactly what it takes to efficiently merchandise
and distribute feed and grain commodities.
We purchase grains from producers across Western Canada, which are used
to supply feedlot, poultry, hog, and dairy operations. We will provide
the specified quality and quantity delivered or FOB when needed at very
competitive prices. We purchase all grades of grain: heated, high moisture
and light bushel weight at discounts to regular price and high protein,
plump, high bushel weight at premium prices. Other commodities that
we purchase include triticale, rye, oats, corn, screening, and other
protein by-products.
We have a specialized salesman who deals with only the best of organic
grains. We also purchase mustard (yellow, brown, oriental) peas, lentils,
chickpeas, and heated & green canola. We also contract all three
varieties of mustard.

Neil Slingerland
Owner
» Neil's Family
|
Neil Slingerland was born in Lethbridge, Alberta and
raised on a farm in the nearby town of Picture Butte. Besides five
years at a 4000 head, Parklake Feeders feedlot, Neil spent much of his
early employment working with his father farming, and managing his own
personal 2000 head feedlot during the winter months.
In 1991, Neil, his wife Margaret, and their three children purchased a
2000 head feedlot. This was a brief position as he shortly was
requested to manage a 6000 hd feedlot at Double "O" Feeders Ltd. in
Vauxhall, Alberta, which he did for five years. During this time, this
great challenge taught him much about the beef business.
In 1996, Neil entered the grain merchandizing business. Seeing
potential, he sold his feedlot and founded Newco Commodities Ltd. in
Coaldale, in 1997. The current offices were built on a quarter section
of land two miles west of Coaldale in March, 2000.
Neil and Margaret have eight children (five sons, three daughters) all
under the age of twenty. Wow!! In addition to his interest in
farming, Neil enjoys, camping and landscaping. He has
served on the Lethbridge and District Pro-life board faithfully for
four years and is presently serving on his church board. |
